Dr. Pablo Espinosa-Mur Presents His Research Findings

Pablo Espinosa-Mur, DVM, DACVS, DECVS presented the findings from his paper “Radiographic and Ultrasonographic Findings of the Caudal Cervical Region in 105 Warmblood Jumpers” at AAEP’s Annual Convention earlier this month.   Dr. Espinosa-Mur also presented at ACVS. Thank you to everyone who came to the presentations and to all who donated to make this exciting study possible.

Dr. Sarah Puchalski Elected Chief Executive Officer

Sarah Puchalski, DVM, DACVR Elected Chief Executive Officer of the Sport Horse Research Foundation

The Board of Directors of the Sport Horse Research Foundation is excited to announce the appointment of Sarah Puchalski, DVM, DACVR as Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, effective immediately. “Sarah was instrumental in the creation of The Sport Horse Research Foundation,” said Founding Director Dr. Richard Wheeler. “As an academic and active equestrian competitor, Sarah brings vast experience both with regard to the needs of the competing sport horse as well as requirements for rigorous study design. Her vision and dedication have enabled us to achieve so much in such a short time, and her leadership will be invaluable as we continue to grow.”

“Throughout Sarah’s career she has excelled within the Sport Horse veterinary community, being associated with the world’s leading facilities both in clinical work and research. Sarah has published over 40 scientific articles and has contributed to several books. I am excited to see Sarah’s promotion to CEO and have complete confidence in her leadership,” said Dr. Wheeler.

Dr. Puchalski has her own business, Puchalski Equine Diagnostic Imaging, and is based in Petaluma, California at Circle Oak Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation where she is a partner. Dr. Puchalski is also based at the Palm Beach Equine Clinic in Wellington, Florida during the Winter Equestrian Festival.

Dr. Philippe Benoit Named Director

Philippe Benoit, DVM, DACVSMR joins the Sport Horse Research Foundation’s Board of Directors

Dr. Philippe BenoitDr. Philippe Benoit of Equisport Consulting is widely regarded as a leading international show jumping veterinarian. Philippe served as the veterinarian for the French Team from 1992-2000, French Olympic Team in 2004, and Saudi Arabian Olympic Team in 2012. In addition to working as an international consultant for several foreign national teams, Benoit was the treating veterinarian during the show jumping finals at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy.

“Philippe is a highly accomplished international sport horse veterinarian,” said Dr. Sarah Puchalski, Chairman of the Sport Horse Research Foundation. “We are confident that he will add great value to our Board of Directors and the Foundation will benefit from his insights, judgement, and counsel.”

“Philippe’s vast experience and knowledge of sport horses make him exceptional asset to the Board,” said Grace de la Gueronniere, Chief Executive Officer. “We are confident Philippe is going to make an important and positive impact on the Foundation and it is and honor and privilege to welcome him.”
